Program Description

The Carbon CURE Network network is aimed at the development of an integrated carbon capture and utilization (CCU) system that will efficiently capture CO2 and convert it to high value chemicals using renewable electricity as an input. Through this network, we will identify processes that combine CO2 capture and conversion for efficient use of resources, rather than maintaining completely separate systems.

We will guide development of new materials and methods through our three themes:

  1. Basic materials design and synthesis
  2. Platform development
  3. Systems integration

These themes will allow both the capture and conversion technologies to progress from discovery to translation. Our themes are interconnected, and enable the sharing of ideas between various materials systems for efficient capture agents and catalysts.
